We only got to spend 1 night with my Maarten en Elizabeth before we needed to move on and arrive a bit early at out final destination. It is never fun to leave kids behind, but he will be on his way to West Chester right after Christmas.
As we are driving more East we enter a more snowy landscape. We have been lucky with the snow and ice. Of course! I got snow tires and was prepared!
But the North-East had a huge snowstorm while we were driving North in the Midwest. Now that we enter Pennsylvania, the roads are clear but the landscapes are still beautifully white and snowy. (And Lisa informed us the snow is coming down in the Midwest now)
We have driven this road before, and there are things we have seen and done, but we never stopped at the world largest quarter, so that was our goal today. The quarter measures 20-ft. in diameter and weighs nearly one ton.
In the afternoon we arrived in West Chester, the final destination for part ONE of the road trip, and with snow on the ground my girl found a sled and wanted to build a snowman. Typical Floridian (or Texan) in the cold!
Long story short:
do not sled in between trees and with support of your older brother to dare up the game a bit. Because, in our family at least, it ends with pain and crutches.
