DMR: day 10, Chicago

Chicago was our second reason to take the trip, it had been on the list for a long time and it actually made sense to include this since it is literally on the drive from Mount Rushmore to West Chester. Through Facebook I had been in contact with a Belgian tour guide in Chicago: Leentje De Leeuw. It was the first time we met in person, but I can call her my friend since we have been chatting a lot through messenger.

If you ever look for a tour in Chicago, in English, French or Dutch
she is the "Chic-a-GO" with... check it out at www.Chica-go.us

And for at least 8 other cities in the USA with Belgian guides go to www.via-Americana.com

Largest Starbucks in the World

It says “largest” so we need to go, and it was an impressive experience. Every floor had their specialty: unique drinks, bakery and even a bar. But the cold kept us away from tht last one, let’s do this in warmer weather again.

The Bean…. Cloud Gate

Due to Covid-19 the Cloud Gate was marked of for visitors, so no nice, have-to-do mirror picture; but instead a very unique “nobody in the picture” view.

And the rest of this awesome tour.

Leentje was an excellent guide and I love hearing about the architecture and history. And with the cold weather the perfect ending was a dinner. We enjoyed this a lot, and will return, we will place Chicago on one of the next tripts.
