After a couple of years of living in America and traveling the country, I partnered with a new car and made road tripping my new way of travel.

I have travelled Europe and America for a long time, and maybe I will share those previous experiences on a later date. In 2017 I found myself at a crossroad, and had some choices to make.
The first decision was about the cars cars, my company had a really nice Audi A6 and a big spacious Town and County (Chrysler). But there was no budget to keep both and actually they both liked to guzzle gas. Karlien and I decide to go take a look at the Toyota Prius, since they are hard to beat in MPG.

“I immediately fell in love with the roominess of the car. After a few hours of negotiating I could trade my other cars and we took home our TOBIUS”

For that first many miles we travelled to cheer competitions all over the East Coast. In 2018 for Christmas travel to San Diego it, all of the sudden, didn’t make sense to fly 3 people over if I could drive myself for less than the price of a plane ticket.

So…. we did…

AND we loved the journey, the stops, the adventure and decided flying was highly overrated. This was the start of road tripping the USA (and beyond).
